Fall 2009 Intro

Welcome back new and returning economic majors and minors!

This is an exciting time in your life to further your education and meet new interesting people.  As you will find, the opportunities are endless. College is what you will make of it.  The Temple University Economic Society / Omicron Delta Epsilon offer ways to help further your education, meet new and interesting people and explore your possibilities.

TES / ODE is excited to begin the new school term.

For the new individuals:

TES is a Student Professional Organization, open to anyone interested in economics, regardless of your major. Currently, we offer free admission to our general meetings, a career services newsletter, economics course insight, tutoring, and notification of our spotlight meetings; just by becoming a contact on our email listserv.

Omicron Delta Epsilon, one of the world’s largest academic honor societies with 578 chapters, was created through the merger of two honor societies, Omicron Delta Gamma and Omicron Chi Epsilon. The goal of ODE is to recognize scholastic attainment and honor outstanding achievements in economics. Honors is something for you to think about as you begin to breathe cherry and white. This section of our club does have economic credit requirements and a lifetime fee of $32.00.

If you wish to join the club or would like more information please contact us at econclub@temple.edu.

For the current members:

In the past, the members of TES/ODE pride themselves in the path they have explored at Temple University.  We don’t expect this year to be any different. We will continue to provide numerous general meetings, host regional speakers and organize field trips to local economic headquarters.

We are currently looking for individuals to join our administration team to shift out our production of possibilities frontier.  Contact us to inquire what positions are available and the requirements of each.

For both new and current members:

Many networking and career opportunities exist in the Temple Economic Society. The past officers currently hold positions at Global Insight, Delaware Investments and one is an economic PhD candidate at the prestigious University of Penn. The current administration team is no slough either, composed of a group of very hard working individuals currently holding jobs at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Merrill Lynch and tutoring students in economics, statistics and math.

TES / ODE look forward to servicing the TempleU community and hopes you have a wonderful fall semester.

Best,

TES TEAM
